But in 2014 our lives were turned upside down.
Our young teenage son was diagnosed with a bone tumour. The biggest life changing event for my family. So many questions and no answers. Tests, appointments, specialists and eventually, after surgery, it was confirmed he had a benign tumour and was fortunate. During this time we spent many hours with other children and parents deep in their battle.
Hopefully, donations will provide funding to scientists so they can make new discoveries, do research and refine treatments that will improve survival rates for all young people with cancer.
With the advent of Artificial Intelligence, medical treatments will benefit from reduced time and cost to develop and improve treatments.
So feel free to follow my lead, donations of all sizes are welcome.
The Kids’ Cancer Project is an independent national charity supporting childhood cancer research.
Since 1993, $70 million has been contributed to scientific research projects to help children with many types of cancer.
The charity funds medical research projects across institutes Australia-wide.
Like many families, ours has been impacted by Cancer. And everyday I think of those still in the battle and wish them strength for their fight.
